Kawazakura trees were first found in Shizuoka prefecture in the 1950s. The locals systematically planted these trees along the banks of the Kawazu River, My tour will take place called Yodosuiro in Kyoto where you can view many Kawazurakura flowers along the riverbank.

The Sakura Hanami (flower viewing) festival is a very important custom. The Japanese people drink and eat with friends and family, and have picnics under the Sakura trees. But due to Covid-19, it has been cancelled this year. Luckily, we can still walk under the canopy of these magnificent blooms.

Broadly revered in Japanese literature, poetry, and art, the Sakura is often seen as a symbol of the ephemeral beauty of living.
