Stroll one of the most beautiful Japanese Gardens in Japan!

Ritsurin Kōen (栗林公園) is a landscape garden in Takamatsu City, Kagawa prefecture built end of the 16th century. The garden became open to public in 1875, and designated as the Special Place of Scenic Beauty in 1953.

The 75 ha spacious garden features 16 ponds, 13 miniature hills, historic trees, beautiful pavilions and several tea houses. The gardens are set in front of wooded Mt. Shiun which serves as a wonderful background and the great example of borrowed scenery.

The French travel guidebook Michelin Green guide Japon evaluates this Ritsurin Garden as the three stars, “worth to visit by all means”.
